Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen denounces Donald Trump’s renewed calls for the U.S. to “take over” Greenland as disrespectful and “completely and utterly unacceptable,” insisting that Greenland is a self‑ruled democracy within the Danish kingdom, protected by NATO and existing defense agreements, not a bargaining chip in superpower rhetoric, and warning that linking it to the U.S. military takeover of Venezuela fuels fears of similar unilateral moves in the Arctic.
