Oman’s foreign minister Badr Albusaidi traveled to Washington after reported joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, even as he was mediating indirect nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington in Geneva. Albusaidi argued progress was being made, claiming Tehran signaled it would never stockpile enriched uranium, according to The New York Times. However, Iran refused to discuss alleged U.S. demands on its ballistic missile program and regional proxies. On February 28, Israel launched pre-emptive strikes, later described by a U.S. official as joint operations. Explosions rocked Tehran and other cities, with Iranian media reporting heavy IRGC casualties.
