Raghuram Rajan is a contender for the Governor of Bank of England when incumbent governor Mark Carney's term ends in 2019 as Financial Times reported. This isn't the first time the former RBI governor's name has been mentioned as a candidate for a top central bank. In 2017, finance magazine Barron's had said Rajan would be the ideal choice to chair the US Federal Reserve. In the past, Rajan was the chief economist at the International Monetary Fund and after his 3-year stint with RBI, he went back to academia. http://read.ht/Bl4l
