- While China builds a second, bigger and broader bridge over the Pangong Tso, Hindustan Times has learnt that the Indian army has been deployed at the LAC to counter People’s Liberation Army's aggressive infrastructure development. This comes nearly a month after the new Chief of Army Staff, General Manoj Pande, conducted a security review of the Chinese PLA’s positions in East Ladakh. As per HT report, the Indian Army has studied the satellite pictures of the twin Chinese bridges and found out that the first bridge built over the narrowest part of Pangong Tso at Khurnak Fort was 6m wide. The second bridge is 11m wide and has the capacity to handle 70 tons of load, which is more than the weight of the heaviest Chinese tank. Watch this video for more details.
