India thwarted 2 Chinese hacking bids near Ladakh power grid: RK Singh confirms

- Hours after a report claimed that suspected state-sponsored Chinese hackers tried toa ttack power grid near Ladakh, the government has issued a statement. Power Minister RK Singh claimed that 2 such attacks took place in January and February this year and that the government had foiled them. He added that the government has strengthened its defence system to counter such cyberattacks. In the report, threat intelligence firm Recorded Future Inc. had said suspected state-sponsored Chinese hackers have targeted the power sector in India in recent months as part of an apparent cyber-espionage campaign.
