Covid update: States get Covishield doses; vaccines’ prices & procurement

- From Indian states receiving Covishield doses to China locking down Langfang city, here are the top updates on the pandemic. Several Indian states received 1st dispatch of the Covisheild vaccine. Vaccine doses were sent from Pune’s Serum Institute of India. Meanwhile, the Centre briefed on Covid-19 vaccine’s prices, roll out, and procurement in India. Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that the Covishield vaccine will cost around ₹200/dose (excluding taxes) while Covaxin will cost ₹206/dose in India. Centre to procure 110 lakh doses of Covishield and 55 lakh doses of Covaxin, the health ministry informed. Also, China locked down Langfang near Beijing after rising Covid-19 cases.
