Covid update: Nepal approves Covishield use; China honors ‘Bat Woman’

Union health minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan reviewed preparedness for nationwide vaccination drive in the country. PM Modi will inaugurate the vaccination drive in India on Saturday. Meanwhile, Nepal granted emergency approval for AstraZeneca’s India made Covishield. This comes at a time when Nepal’s foreign minister is visiting India. Also, US President-elect Joe Biden announced a USD 1.9 trillion stimulus package for coronavirus. The package includes direct financial aid to average Americans, support to small businesses.
