From the death of an Indian minister, to an Indian pharma signing a deal with an American medical school for an intranasal vaccine candidate - here are the top updates on the Covid-19 pandemic. Suresh Angadi, the Minister of State for Railways, succumbed to the disease, weeks after testing positive. He had been found to be infected on September 11, and had subsequently beenadmitted to AIIMS, Delhi. Meanwhile, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was also hospitalised, days after testing positive. As the hunt for a vaccine continues, Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech signed an agreement with USA's Washington University School of Medicine for an intranasal vaccine, i.e. it will be administered through the nose. The first phase trial will take place in US' Missouri, while later stages might be held in India if the regulators allow it. Meanwhile, USA's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield told a Senate health committee that around 70 crore vaccine doses should be available by April 2021.
