Covid update: WHO lauds India’s vaccination drive; Delhi prepares for surge

- From W.H.O’s likely approval to India’s Covaxin to the Delhi government’s readiness for an upcoming surge in infections, here are the top updates on the pandemic. India achieved a new milestone in its vaccination drive as 3 states & 3 UTs vaccinated 100% of their adult population with at least the first dose of the Covid vaccine. Meanwhile, a study published in Lancet advised against booster shot of vaccines as it claimed that the efficacy of vaccines against preventing severe diseases is high even for the delta variant.
