‘Ensure free travel of migrant workers’: Key details from SC order

Supreme Court issued interim orders regarding movement of stranded migrant workers. The top court asked the government to ensure that they are allowed to travel for free, and provided food and water at the railway station by state governments, and during the journey by Railways. A bench of the apex court took suo motu cognisance of the matter on May 26, days after another bench of the top court had dismissed a petition on government relief for migrants.
