Explained | 2 new Covid medicines in India: How to get, how to use, for whom

Even as the Covid-19 situation in the country worsens, Indian authorities have cleared two medicines for manufacturing and marketing. These include Glenmark Pharmaceuticals' FabiFlu, and Hetero group's COVIFOR. While FabiFlu is a branded version of the antiviral drug favipiravir, COVIFOR is branded variant of remdesivir. The authorities have mentioned specific conditions under which these medications are to be administered. These two drugs are in addition to other therapies like blood plasma and use of tocilizumab in India's arsenal against Covid.
