'More Covid vaccines need to be developed': Union Health minister Harsh Vardhan

- Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan spoke at the 33rd Commonwealth Health Ministers Meeting. Vardhan said more Covid vaccines need to be developed to end the pandemic effectively. Vardhan added that COVAX aims to deliver at least 2 billion vaccines by the end of 2021. “For effectively ending the pandemic, more Covid vaccines need to be developed. Once proven to be safe and efficacious, it must be deployed rapidly across the world,” he said. The health minister added, “COVAX aims to deliver at least 2 billion Covid vaccines by the end of 2021. Will cover 20% of the most vulnerable population in 92 low and middle-income nations.”
