Omicron scare: India’s new rules for international travellers starting December

Published on Dec 01, 2021 09:05 am IST

From December 1, India is instituting new rules for arriving international passengers. There are separate protocols for passengers from ‘at risk’ countries under the new norms. So far, no cases of covid’s new variant, omicron, have been reported in India. The central government asked states and union territories to keep their guards up. India's international airports have made preparations for the implementation of the new norms. The World Health Organisation has already categorised omicron as a variant of concern.
