'Smokers at 40-50% higher risk of death due to Covid': Harsh Vardhan

Addressing a press conference on World Tobacco Day, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan warned smokers and tobacco consumers. Harsh Vardhan said that people who consume tobacco, especially smokers are at 40-50% higher risk of Covid related complications which might result in death. The Health Ministry has been advising people to quit smoking and tobacco consumption in light of Covid pandemic.
