MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings defeated Eoin Morgan's Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the final in Dubai to clinch their fourth Indian Premier League title. Batting first in the IPL 2021 summit clash, Faf du Plessis' 86-run innings, off 59 balls, guided CSK to 192/3 in 20 overs. In response, KKR's openers Venkatesh Iyer and Shubman Gill smashed fifties but a triple strike from Shardul Thakur and twin blow from Ravindra Jadeja rocked KKR. Eventually, there were restricted to 165/9 in 20 overs as CSK sealed the deal with a 27-run win
