Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Assam has decided to bring a BJP government in power for the second time. While addressing a poll rally in Assam’s Bokakhat, PM Modi said, “It is now decided that Assam will get double engine ki sarkar — doosri baar, BJP sarkar.” PM Modi said more than ₹40,000 crore have been invested for the development of the oil and petroleum sector in the state. Slamming Congress, PM Modi said, “Congress means confusion; Congress means 'bomb, bandook and blockade'. The people of the state need to keep this Congress 'loot ka engine' away.” Polling for assembly elections in Assam is scheduled to begin on March 27. Results will be announced on May 2.
