Dev Patel won at BAFTA, but real-life mother of ‘Lion’ still works as a maid

Hollywood movie 'Lion' has brought spotlight on Fatima Munshi, a maid in Ganesh Talai locality of Khandwa, whose son Saroo Brierley is the protagonist in the film. The movie, starring Dev Patel, is based on real life rags to riches story of Munshi's son, an Indian-born Australian businessman who accidentally got separated from his family in 1987. Saroo came back looking for his family and found his mother. He went back with a promise to help her, even started sending her money. But soon stopped, leaving Fatima.
