Eye on China, Australia unveils $804MN package to boost Antarctica presence

Australia has unveiled a $804MN (U.S. $578MN) package to boost presence & surveillance in Antarctica. Australia concerned - both Russia & China have stepped up activities on the frozen continent. Australia has claims on 42% of Antarctica, more than any other nation. China has stepped up spending on Antarctic initiatives, though the U.S. maintains the largest presence.
