FIFA World Cup 2018: Mohamed Salah continues rehabilitation

Updated on Jun 13, 2018 11:41 am IST

For a third consecutive Egypt training session, Mohamed Salah continued to prepare for the World Cup away from his teammates. It looks less and less likely that the Liverpool forward will be ready to represent the Egypt national football team in their Group A opener against Uruguay on 15th June. Salah injured his shoulder under a challenge from Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos in the Champions League final and has been in a race against time ever since. Despite his lack of participation, Salah is still the main attraction with soccer fans in Grozny, where Egypt have based themselves for the tournament. If Salah doesn't make it back in time for Uruguay, his next target will be to get fit for a clash with hosts Russia on 19th June, before Egypt round off their Group A campaign against Saudi Arabia in Volgograd six days later.
