The deputy secretary-general of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, mocked Israel for taking too long to attack the Lebanon-based militant organisation. He stated that "Israel will suffer a substantial blow if it makes any stupid and reckless move." As Qassem put it, "Israel will enter a process of erosion if Netanyahu prolongs the conflict."
