The Shiv Sena may have backed the Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha but ahead of the crucial Rajya Sabha test, Sena has set two conditions for the BJP. Shiv Sena has demanded that the refugees who are given citizenship not be granted voting rights for 25 years. They also want refugees from Sri Lanka to be included in the ambit of the bill. Meanwhile, defending its decision to back the bill in the Lok Sabha, Sena MP Arvind Sawant said that it did so in national interest.
