Airport faceoff: Did BJP’s Tamilisai overreact or did Sofia take activism too far?
Updated on Sept 04, 2018 11:23 pm IST
The altercation between Tamil Nadu BJP chief Tamilisai Soundararajan and 28-year-old research scholar Lois Sofia at the Tuticorin airport has kicked up a storm. Lois Sofia was arrested after the BJP leader filed a complaint and was subsequently released on bail. But opinions are now sharply divided. Some say that the incident shows how the BJP is curbing dissent, while others believe that Lois Sofia was spreading anarchy and that freedom of speech comes with responsibility. Question is did BJP's Tamilisai overreact or did Sofia take activism a bit too far?
