Amid ruckus, Congress raises disinvestment of PSUs in Lok Sabha

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury raised the issue of disinvestments of PSUs in the Lok Sabha. He alleged that the government wants to fund its own exchequer with the disinvestments. The Congress leader in the Lok Sabha also accused the government of trying to evade Parliament scrutiny on the issue. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Wednesday gave in-principle approval to strategic disinvestment in five state-run companies.
