Updated on Mar 02, 2020 02:00 pm IST
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to the media after his flight in a Rafale combat aircraft. Singh said that he flew at 'supersonic speed' and that the flight was 'very comfortable' and 'smooth'. Tweeting after the sortie, the minister called it a once in a lifetime experience. He also clarified that India doesn't purchase arms to threaten other nations. Singh credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the induction of the Rafale aircraft into the Indian Air Force. Earlier in the day, Singh had taken delivery of the first Rafale jet for the IAF at a ceremony in France's Merignac.
