Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the Indian economy is showing signs of strong recovery. Addressing a press conference to announce more stimulus measures to boost growth, the finance minister said that macro-economic indicators are pointing towards recovery. Giving details of the recovery, Sitharaman said that composite purchasing managers index or PMI rose to 58.9% in October versus 54.6% in the previous month, registering strongest increase in output in close to nine years. She further added that the Goods and Services Tax collections have grown 10% to over Rs 1.05 lakh crore.
