Kulbhushan Jadhav verdict: ICJ rules in favour of India, Jadhav’s to get consular access

Updated on Feb 28, 2020 07:32 pm IST

Three years after Pakistan captured Kulbhushan Jadhav and sentenced him to death in an opaque trial, the International Court of Justice ruled in India's favour. The world court, situated in The Hague in Netherlands, ordered a stay on the execution of Jadhav, while affirming his right to secure consular access. The ICJ also ordered Pakistan to 'effectively review and reconsider' the death sentence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, commenting on the verdict, said that truth and justice had prevailed.
