Maharashtra impasse: Sena leaders meet Governor; Sharad Pawar briefs Sonia

Political uncertainty continued in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena leaders met Maharashtra Governor on Monday. Sanjay Raut and Ramdas Kadam called on Bhagat Koshyari. After the meeting, Raut commented on the situation. He said that whoever has majority, can form the government. A day earlier, Raut had claimed support of over 170 MLAs. Meanwhile, NCP chief Sharad Pawar met his Congress counterpart Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi. Pawar briefed Gandhi about the situation in Maharashtra. After the meeting, he said, “As of today, our mandate to sit in Opposition. I can't say what will happen in the state.”
