Manish Tewari fires back at Shah, says J&K part of India because of Nehru
Updated on Feb 26, 2020 12:34 am IST
Congress MP Manish Tewari hit back at Home Minister Amit Shah who earlier gave credit to Sardar Patel for Jammu and Kashmir being a part of India. Calling the bill undemocratic, Tewari said that it is only because of former PM Jawaharlal Nehru that Jammu and Kashmir is still a part of India. Tewari went on to call the move unprecedented as this is the very first time that a state was being converted into a Union Terriroty. The fiery scenes played out in the Lok Sabha when the Home Minister tabled the resolution to abrogate Article 370, which gives special rights to Jammu and Kashmir, in Lok Sabha.
