Watch what happened in FM Nirmala Sitharaman’s 1st pre-Budget consultation

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman began pre-Budget consultations. She will be presenting her second Budget next year. The first meeting was with representatives of digital economy, Fintech, start-ups. Suggestions regarding Big Data, incentives for new data centres, rationalisation of MAT rate, tax exemption for startups were shared. Sitharaman also met stakeholders from financial sector, capital markets. Suggestions regarding credit offtake from banks, PSB governance, NBFC stress, risk capital issues, GST on term insurance were discussed.
