To Russia with love? UK defence chief recalls hosting Putin, then blames him for isolation | watch

UK Defence Secretary Wes Streeting has said Britain does not seek conflict with Russia, stressing that London has no quarrel with the Russian people. Speaking in Paris on October 26, Streeting expressed hope for a future in which Russia and its European neighbours could restore constructive relations, including diplomatic engagement with President Vladimir Putin. However, he reaffirmed Britain’s commitment to supporting Ukraine for as long as necessary, citing what he described as the threat posed by Putin and Russia. Streeting also called on allies to work together and strengthen their collective response amid continuing tensions across Europe.
