UP accident: 8 killed after sand-laden truck topples over and falls on car

Eight people were killed after a truck overloaded with sand toppled over and fell on a car. The incident was reported on Wednesday in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district. The accident occurred at Deviganj intersection under Kadhadham Kotwali police station. Police said that two people sustained injuries and were undergoing treatment at a local hospital. Police added that the victims were returning to Shahjadpur after attending a wedding in Deviganj. Police further said that the deceased included six women and two children. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He directed officials to provide all possible relief to them and survivors.
