Gajendra Singh, Yudhishtira of Mahabharat fame, says he isn't incompetent as FTII chief

Updated on Jun 16, 2015 02:05 pm IST

Actor Gajendra Singh, who has become the new chief of the Films and Television Institute of India (FTII), has defended criticism over his appointment as the head of the prestigious institution. Singh played the character Yudhishtira in the popular television series Mahabharat. "It's inappropriate for people to start commenting on my appointment at this stage. It's absolutely incorrect to raise doubts about my capability without even seeing my skills and work capacity," he told news agency NNIS. He also denied as baseless allegations that the Bhartiya Janata Party-led government influenced his appointment.
