Hindus and Muslims seek blessings at the mausoleum of Sufi Saint

The culture of Kashmir or Kashmiriyat " as it is known as, is a synthesis of the great traditions of Hinduism, the compassion of Buddhism and the liberalism of Sufi Islam. And Kashmiri society has been a microcosm, reflecting the essence of this beautiful synthesis. Poonch, one of the smallest districts in the state is known for interfaith harmony. This is visible at the shrine of Saint Mira Baksha located close to India-Pakistan border. It is one of the most visited and respected shrines in the state. And the annual Urs or death anniversary is a special occasion that attracts a large number of devotees who believe that whoever pays obeisance at the shrine on the occasion is always blessed.
