A U-Haul truck rammed into a crowd gathered in Los Angeles’ Westwood area on January 11, where hundreds had assembled to support protesters in Iran. The demonstration was reportedly linked to the broader anti-government protests in Iran, which began over economic hardships and have since taken a strongly anti-regime turn. The truck allegedly bore Arabic writing on its side, according to the Jerusalem Post, along with an English sign reading, “No Shah. No Regime. USA: Don’t repeat 1953. No Mullah.” Activists claim that more than 500 protesters have been killed in Iran since December 28, as reported by The Times of Israel. Meanwhile, the U.S. president is said to be considering intervention, having previously threatened the Iranian government. Watch the full video for more.
