At HTLS 2025, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar addressed rising tensions with Bangladesh and spoke candidly about former PM Sheikh Hasina’s stay in India. He said that “she has to make up her mind” about her future, emphasising that India’s approach is guided by democratic values and stability in the region. Jaishankar also urged Bangladesh to send clear signals about the kind of relationship it wants with India, stressing the need for sincerity, consistency, and a credible democratic process moving forward.
