‘Bua-bhatija’ bonhomie peaks in UP: Mayawati calls Akhilesh’s wife ‘bahu’

Marking a new high in Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party ties, Mayawati referred to Akhilesh Yadav's wife as her 'bahu' or daughter-in-law. The BSP chief made the comments while addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj, from where Dimple Yadav is the 'gathbandhan' candidate. Recently, Mayawati shared the stage with SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav after a gap of 24 years. Arch-rivals SP and BSP have united to fend off the Bharatiya Janata Party challenge in UP. The BJP swept the state in the 2014 Lok Sabha and 2017 Assembly elections.
