India received consular access on three occasions to Nikhil Gupta, who has been in jail in the Czech capital of Prague following the U.S. allegation of his involvement in a foiled plot to kill a Khalistani terrorist. The External Affairs Ministry said India is extending necessary consular assistance to Mr. Gupta. U.S. federal prosecutors have charged Gupta with conspiring to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. PM Modi has already sent out a strong message to the U.S. over the case.
