A catastrophic 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28, 2025, with tremors felt across neighboring regions, including Thailand and China. The epicenter was located 16 km northwest of Sagaing at a depth of 10 km. The quake caused widespread destruction, including collapsed buildings in Myanmar and Bangkok, where a 30-story under-construction building trapped 43 workers.
