'Nehru didn't lie...': Mahua Moitra tears into Modi govt; SC pauses Sedition Law

• In a historical decision, the Supreme Court put a stay on the sedition law and ruled that no new FIRs will be lodged under it until Centre re-examines the provisions of the British-era law. Dictating the order, Chief Justice of India NV Ramana said it will be appropriate to not use the law while those already booked under Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code and are in jail can approach the courts for relief. The Supreme Court's order comes a day after Solicitor General Tushar Mehta invoked Jawaharlal Nehru while arguing over the law.
