Prime Minister Narendra Modi has countered Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over the reservation issue. Rahul Gandhi has vowed to breach the 50 reservation ceiling if the INDIA bloc comes to power. Hitting back, PM Modi in Rajya Sabha recalled a quote by India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru who had said he doesn’t like reservation. “I am reading out [Nehru’s quote] - ‘I dislike any kind of reservation, more particularly in services. I am strongly against anything which leads to inefficiency and second rate standards’,” PM Modi said in Rajya Sabha in his reply to the Motion of Thanks on President’s Address.
