India is now buying 33 times more Russian oil than a year earlier. According to a Bloomberg report, India imported a record 1 million barrels of Russian oil per day in December. India, which is the third-biggest crude importer, purchased an average of 1.2 million barrels a day from Russia in December, Bloomberg reported, citing Vortexa Ltd. data. India’s Russian oil imports in December were 29% higher than a month earlier. Russia surpassed Iraq and became India’s biggest supplier of crude oil in October and has retained the top spot for three consecutive months till now.
