As Modi Govt Notifies CAA Rules 4 Years After Parliament Nod, CM Mamata Issues Warning | LS Election

Weeks after Union Home Minister Amit Shah promised that the Citizenship Amendment Act would be implemented before the Lok Sabha elections, his ministry notified rules for the legislation on March 11, thus implementing it. Officials said that the entire process of application by eligible persons would be done online. CAA makes it easier for non-Muslim migrants from three Muslim-majority neighbouring nations to get Indian citizenship. However, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, a long-time critic of the CAA, issued a warning to the Modi government just hours before the rules were notified. Watch the full video for more.
