Bengal Train Tragedy: Death toll surges; 'Locomotive glitch,' says Rail Minister

Death in Bikaner-Guwahati Express train mishap climbed as four people succumbed while 37 are injured, six of them critical. Officials said that all the trapped passengers have been pulled out of the derailed coaches and that the restoration work is underway. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the accident spot today and took stock of the situation. He said that the preliminary probe has revealed that a glitch in locomotive rotation was behind the mishap. The minister said that to know the root cause of the mishap, the probe is underway.
