Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari urged automakers to adopt global safety norms while manufacturing cars for India. He said that car manufacturers export cars with six airbags but don't follow the practice for the local market due to economic model and costs. Gadkari was speaking at the annual session of Automative Component Manufacturers Association of India. Remember, India ranks high in the list of countries with the most number of road accidents and deaths.
