IMA holds protest seeking central law to protect doctors against violence

- IMA observed nationwide protests demanding central law to protect doctors against violence. Doctors and healthcare workers held placards and raised slogans on 'National Protest Day’. At the IMA office in Hyderabad, doctors and medical staff protested wearing black badges. Doctors at All India Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi also took part in the agitation. The IMA unit in Ludhiana also took part in the nationwide protest in support of doctors. Recently, there have been incidents of violence against doctors serving in Covid wards. Doctors were reportedly beaten and assaulted in Bihar, Bengal, Assam, UP and Karnataka.
