At the MEA weekly media briefing on Feb 20, spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India attended the inaugural meeting of President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace” in Washington, DC on Feb 19 as an observer and welcomed Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan initiative, alongside ongoing efforts under UNSC Resolution 2803. He also reiterated India’s stated position on Russian and Venezuelan oil, saying Venezuela imports could be explored if commercially viable, and clarified India’s stance on associating with a statement concerning Israel’s West Bank measures, noting it was not a negotiated document and pointing to India’s stated position in the India–Arab League joint statement.
