French President Emmanuel Macron has reaffirmed the depth of India-France ties, calling the relationship a “special global strategic partnership” that is unique for both nations. Speaking on defence cooperation, Macron said India has confirmed its willingness to place an order for 114 additional Dassault Rafale fighter jets, with co-production at the core of the agreement under the “Make in India” initiative. He emphasised expanding collaboration not only in manufacturing but also in maintenance, diversification, and long-term mutual cooperation. Macron also expressed hope of deepening cooperation in submarine projects, signalling broader defence and strategic engagement.
