The Narendra Modi government explained its stand on the Rohingya issue in the Supreme Court amid a row over implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The Centre filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court on March 20. It stated in the affidavit that Rohingyas were illegal migrants and cannot claim a fundamental right to reside or settle in India.
