Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the BJP’s performance in Southern India will astonish everyone in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. PM Modi has made more than 10 visits to Tamil Nadu in the run-up to the polls. Other top leaders including BJP Tamil Nadu chief K Annamalai and Home Minister Amit Shah have also held several rallies and roadshows in the state. Some reports suggest that arch-foes DMK and AIADMK may also have a tacit understanding to ensure the BJP does not make major inroads in the state. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the BJP is also hoping to improve its performance in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and other Southern states. So, will the BJP’s fortunes in the South change with the 2024 polls?
