Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko ramped up nuclear threats, declaring that Russia’s new “Oreshnik” missile system will soon be put on “combat duty”—ready for use if Western provocation continues. As Belarus accuses Lithuania and Poland of sparking confrontation, Lukashenko warns: “We will defend our land to the last man—together with the Russians.” Russia has helped deliver and modernize Belarus’s nuclear arsenal, which Lukashenko says can now launch from both aircraft and missile platforms.
